Newbridge House and Farm, Ireland
This delightful 18th century manor is set on 350 acres of parkland, and boasts one of the finest Georgian interiors in Ireland.
Each room open to the public has its own style of antique and original furniture - indeed the house appears more or less as it did 150 years ago.
The house was built in 1740 to a design by James Gibb for the Archbishop of Dublin and contains elaborate stucco plasterwork by Robert West.
The grounds also contain a twenty-nine acre traditional farm, complete with farmyard animals.
The square cobbled courtyard adjoining the house was designed by Robert Mack, and built about 1790 after the completion of the main house. The buildings surrounding the courtyard include the Tack Room, Coach House (containing the magnificant Lord Chancellor's Carraige), Blacksmiths Forge, Horse Stables, Joinery Shop, Threshing Barn, Weigh House, Hay Barn, Fowl Houses, and Pig Sty.
In the Paddock you can often find Shetland and Connemara ponies grazing along with donkeys. The pond is home to ducks and geese, and the occasional passing goat.
Visitors can also see a small herd of prize winning Kerry Cows, along with a flock of Jacob Sheep and Irish Draught Horses.
