The Chocolate Warehouse, Dublin
The Chocolate Warehouse was established in 2001 by Natasha Caffrey. Natasha' grandfather was Thomas Caffrey, the founder of Caffreys Confectionery in the 1930’s.
The Chocolate Warehouse teaches visitors the story of chocolate and mystique of chocolate with hands on working experience provided.
The two hour event which covers a 25 minute film explains in detail the story of chocolate and how the cocoa beans are grown and harvested. The film shows the journey of the cocoa beans to the factory and the process the beans go through to get the chocolate we know today.
Visitors are given a demonstration on how chocolates and Easter eggs are made. They are also shown the machinery needed to make chocolate and the method of how to use a piping bag filled with chocolate.
Visitors put on aprons and start making their own chocolates, adding toppings and hand piping with white chocolate. All participants get to decorate and package the chocolate to take home.
Each visitor receives The Chocolate Warehouse Certificate.
